When we wake up, the past is not erased from our memories but simply returns to being a dream.
In the sleep state, the past is very real; what happened yesterday seems so real that some people live it as if it is happening now.
The past is indeed just a dream, but it has serious consequences on our reality, just like a powerful dream we had at night has an impact on reality, It can affect our mood, and we may feel the dream during the day even though we know it was just a dream.
If we go deeper, it seems that what we talked about 10 minutes ago is also a dream now, the fact that you entered here through the door remains a dream, what you asked me a minute ago has also passed into the dimension of a dream,
And here we are now, and all that remains is to follow what is happening now. At this moment, the past simply returns to its real place; it returns to being a dream.
Are you ready to see your future as a kind of dream?

The only time the past will come to haunt you is when you have not learnt the lesson from that experience in the past.
When you had an experience in the past ,you had to transform that experience and once you did that , that experience would never bother you again , not in your dreams , not in your memories or traumas as if that experience never really happened and does not concern you.
but if you had not transformed it will keep bothering you.
I don’t think the past can get you, else you live in a dream when it performed as real.
when we sleep we belive our thoughts is reality and we don’t question it.
But when we are awake, we remember the dream as an allusion, so we know we are awake.
It bring us to an realization that only when we see our dreams so we are awake,
same as, only when we see our lies we can know the truth.
